The Unimaginable
On Sunday, January 19, I decided that I would try the LifeWave patches for the next three weeks before returning to the Osteopath in Santa Cruz. My original intent for starting these LifeWave patches was threefold:
1- to enhance microcirculation (trying to avoid a $3000 purchase for an Avacen machine)
2- to regenerate and soften fascia (trying to avoid another $3000 Exosome IV push in three weeks)
3- to reduce cholesterol and other significant increases that appeared in my last Cardio IQ.
My LifeWave representative had recommended using the X-39 patch during the day and the Aeon patch for inflammation during the night. Thus, on Sunday I was wearing the X-39 patch as I began my routine one-mile walk.
My one mile walk recently incorporated walking three minutes at an easy pace and three minutes at a faster pace. I timed these three minutes with Michele McLaughlin’s playlist for The Cranial Connection Paradigm- her songs are around three minutes.
That evening I sat down at the computer and within a few minutes, pain hit my left leg with major cramping. I finally realized it was my foot – and I was concerned that I had a stress fracture. I couldn’t walk; my left leg was dragging and I was unable to put weight on my foot, reminiscent of the months before my back surgery. (This left leg had lost knee and ankle reflex within four months of my daughter’s birth in early 1975)
This made no sense; I had worn the same walking shoes as always and had even walked the day before. I submerged my foot in ice water for fifteen minutes, rubbing arnica over the entire foot once it was ‘frozen’ and out of the water.
As luck would have it, I not only had this walking/foot pain issue but then proceeded to bang my left knee on an open drawer so hard that it bled. Thus, I tried two LifeWave pain patches! Frustrated, with both foot and knee throbbing, I went to bed early wearing ‘Icewave’ for pain and ‘Aeon’ for inflammation. I was most thankful I had an appointment the following afternoon with my osteopath.
In the morning, my foot and my knee were 95% better! I could make circles with my foot and walk with no pain or limp! The bruising on my knee was non-existent. The little patch of blood was the only evidence that I had injured my knee…I could press my fingers on my knee with no reaction! How was this possible? I was stunned! These two acute pain experiences gave me more impetus to see if, in fact,
these patches could alleviate or lessen my bizarre orofacial symptoms.
- I then realized that my cold laser light and LifeWave patches both belong in the world of regenerative’ medicine:
both enliven and revive the body : PHOTOBIOMODULATION
The appointment with my Osteopath was early Monday afternoon. By then, the ‘stress fracture’ episode had completely evaporated; and even my knee with a smudge of blood still remaining under the LifeWave patch was barely sore. I was curious to see his reaction to my two acute injuries and the amazing recoveries. Furthermore, I was most interested in his feedback on the X-39 patch that was on the left side of my face right in front of the ear. I felt nothing – but I didn’t feel anything from the ‘Icewave’ pain patches that so obviously helped my recovery from banging my knee and most likely had impact on the foot…along with the ice bath and arnica.
His strong confirmation of the what he perceived the patch was doing reconfirmed for me the happenings with the acute injuries – and I laid down on the table for treatment.
February, 1981 was my first appointment with this doctor. Forty-five year later his perception and skill continue to amaze me. This treatment was so on target that I thought he had opened up my head and touched the sharp, vibrating ‘pain’ that was deep inside the left side of my head and throat. As uncomfortable as it was, I had no hesitancy that what was happening would be productive in the long run. My years of experience gives me a knowing on many levels that my body can be in a better place. The intensity of this treatment was surprising however. Barely able to get off the table at 1:45, by 4:00 I’m teaching piano lessons. He reassured me he would work me into his schedule the next day if necessary. That never happened. The next days came and went without me having to say hello again.
My hope was dashed to the ground with the LifeWave pain patch: it did nothing for the ice-pick sharp pain. I continued wearing the Inflammatory “IceWave” patch at night and the X-39 patch during the day. When my next appointment on Monday arrived (January 20), I was a little concerned that the treatment would once again be intense. By this time my main question was, “Do you think the intensity of the last treatment was due to wearing the LifeWave patch?” I knew the answer before I asked the question: “I don’t know.” i was relieved that this treatment proved to be more ‘normal’.
The next day, I was lying in my zero gravity chair; postural change always shifts the sensation – whether it be pain or fluid – in the left side of my throat). I placed the cold laser probe on the left side of my face at the junction of the top of the ear and face on the temporalis muscle. Immediate shimmering deep into this area confirms I’m in the right place. The patch was located on my face more at the bottom of the ear. Suddenly, a spasm races through my palate and a thick glob of mucous drops into my mouth – this is not uncommon after a treatment. However, what happened next was astounding. After the first ‘production, I decided I had better retrieve one of my vials of formalin. Lying back down and resuming my laser treatment, another spasm through the palate produced another ‘glob’ of thick paste. My ENT has seen this happen over the past 28 years since the orthodontic injury. He has had several specimens sent to the lab for analysis, but these were usually the calcifications that the spasm would release, not the thick fluid.
The third throat spasm produced a long, rope-like string of fluid with specks of something interspersed here and there. Grabbing my formalin jar, I quickly opened my mouth against the jar – and out dropped my ‘treasure’ into the preservative! It was shocking. And a question popped immediately into my mind: “could those little specs possibly be bone?” This occurred less than 24 hours after my cranial osteopathic treatment.
Cranial Motion + LifeWave + Laser Light = The Unimaginable
I communicated through my ENT’s portal that I would be bringing a specimen for lab analysis. And I was so very thankful that he had performed a sinus endoscopy at my recent appointment. After returning from Santa Cruz having produced three sizable calcifications from my throat after the ‘400 micron’ splint adjustment, I was hoping that he could see ‘something’ in my throat. That hope never materialized. However, there would be no question in his mind that this ‘stringy rope’ had NOT been residing in my sinus cavity. I had watched the video after the exam as well and had been able to see exactly what he saw – nothing!
This was certainly different than calcification debris! I think my doctors are hearing me say ‘there’s something embedded in the tissue of my throat”!
I have had two more confirmations on the LifeWave patch:
1) I did not have the patch on when I saw my PT. He also does a baseline assessment for range of motion; I had none initially. As he was proceeding to tell me about the spot in my back where he would start, I said: “Wait a minute. See if this changes anything.” I placed the X-39 patch on my face in front of my left ear – my problem area. I then had range of motion. Moreover, he exclaimed: “Your back straightened up and is now centered.” That was extraordinary news. However, during the treatment he made a statement about how tight and rigid my fascia was. This is making me think twice about not doing the IV Exosome push when I arrive in California. This is precisely the language used by my California osteopath and why she began Exosomes – to reduce the rigidity of the fascia.
2) I purposely did the same process with my Jin Shin practitioner. I had her take my pulses (her initial evaluation) and then I placed the X-39 patch in precisely the same location as before. She stated: “I’m not sure how to express what I felt. Maybe the best word is say ‘more centered’?” And this echoes the statement of my PT.
I feel nothing other than the patch itself on my skin! On Tuesday, when my “Treasure” appeared, I was hopeful that this would resolve my symptoms. It has not: the fluid day remains extreme – so extreme that I don’t want to wear the appliance because it amplifies the pressure in my throat. Does the appliance need a major adjustment? I won’t know for another ten days. I am hoping an osteopathic treatment will change this and am emotionally struggling with this turn of events – the highs and the lows of progress.
It remains to see what all of this reveals – from Beneath the Surface. Hopefully the lab results will provide A Deeper Understanding. This week?
MORE COMING SOON!
Six days later, on Monday, February 3, I once again had an osteopathic appointment in Phoenix.
I began my one mile walk at 12:20 – and was sitting in my Osteopath’s waiting room at 1:00. I purposely did NOT wear the Life Wave patch – on the walk or to the appointment. And to my surprise, I had complete range of motion in my initial assessment! This NEVER happens. When I placed the patch on my face, my range of motion increased even more.
This finding helps erase my memory of last night in the wee hours of the morning, being awakened into extreme facial pain and fluid. This response is also what propels me forward rather than sinking into despair and fear. My mind needs to focus on the positive increments, not the symptomatic flare that accompanies spiraling change in a positive direction.
My Phoenix practitioners are telling me the fascia is still ‘tight’ and ‘rigid’. So – Exosome push next week? I will first see the doctor and then proceed – I want her to ‘feel’ the Life Wave action on my body. I have three confirmations in Phoenix: Osteopath, Physical Therapist and Jin Shin Practitioner. I do wish I could ‘sense’ this within my own body!
My ENT’s office’s portal communication informed me that the results on the “Specimen Treasure” should be here this week. While organizing my office yesterday, I found a lab report on a specimen from 2.27.24 – almost one year from today: “foreign material consistent with small parasite cyst or vegetative material.” And I was wondering if the ‘specs’ in this specimen were bone fragments – a parasite? The puzzle is coming together very rapidly!
One week from today, I will once again be in San Jose and Santa Cruz!
